Chapter 5

Chapter 5, Information Privacy, contains ideas applicable to the movie. When aboard the Solaris station, many scientists found that holograms of their memories or worst nightmares became real. Because these scientists disclosed this type of information to no one, it follows that the computing mechanism within Solaris became aware of this information and used it against the scientists. This invasion of privacy was not taken well by the scientists, and caused the study of Solaristics to deteriorate.
